“Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.” ~ Albert Einstein
I believe in creating a safe environment to help you with internal exploration and pursuit of your personal goals. I try to meet you where you are in your life, and what aspects of your life you wish to change. I am here to help you identify areas in which you may feel stuck. Changes in your life can be disruptive, stressful, and confusing. Quite often, you may find yourself pulled in too many directions at once. You may have multiple pressures from work, family, and friends. This tug of war may leave you feeling as if you don’t have enough time to take care of yourself, much less deal with any additional problems. I am also here to help you find more balance in your life with what you find most important.
As an eclectic generalist, I focus on individualizing therapy to best meet your personal needs. I will work with you to foster a collaborative team-like approach to therapy. You are not in this alone. You and I will work together to develop a plan that best suits your needs, and build off of your strengths. Therefore, I may employ several approaches depending upon each client which include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Process-Experiential Therapy, and the Transtheoretical Model.
I have worked in a variety of settings which include outpatient private practices, outpatient medical hospitals, and several Veterans Affairs Medical Hospitals. I have extensive experience with Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Grief, Trauma, and various Addictions in adults.
